WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The GOP addressed the issue of America's energy sector.
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott said the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee are working to create jobs in the energy sector, while also saving money for Americans.
However, Scott said President Obama and other Democrats are blocking some of those plans.
"We want a true all-of-the-above energy strategy, because a diverse, market-based energy portfolio of nuclear, wind, solar and other renewables means more competition and lower prices for consumers," he said. "Republicans will work to stop government policies that are driving up energy costs preventing businesses from hiring new employees."
Scott also said the Republicans' plan would help lower energy costs benefit the middle class.
